From a young age I have always played sport, basketball and swimming in particular. It wasn’t until I was 20 when I tore my ACL that I decided to dabble in strength training. “Dabbling” turned into competitive powerlifting years later, a couple of gold medals and going from squatting 40kg to 130kg.. Over double bodyweight. Finding a training style or sport that you genuinely look forward to participating in each session is the key to consistency and continual progression – I found this in strength training.

My passion for lifting is more than just about competing and chasing PB’s – The barbell has taught me so many lessons in life. It has taught me to appreciate my body for all that it is, and all that it can do. It has encouraged me to nourish my body to ensure I am able to feel and perform my best. On top of the confidence it has helped me gain – strength training has also shown me the importance of persistence, patience and trusting the process. All of these I take pride in passing on to each and every person I have the privilege to coach.

I’ve been a Personal Trainer for years now and each day I am still grateful that it is my career to have a positive impact on, and change the lives of so many people.
